Weirdness / hacking

I've noticed over the last 1/2 hour to 1hr or so -- "splashes" and "up arrows" appearing on my desktop. The "up arrows" with increasing frequency.

Just curious if anyone else has seen this, and any suggestions as to what might be causing it?

If I had to guess, I'd say someone is "messing with me"...?

Update -- basically my keyboard is freaking out. If I press the "shift" key, I get a little "Up arrow" on the screen.

Control, option, apple -- all the modifiers show up as icons on the screen.

Looks like "sticky keys" got turned on -- 10.2.5?

sticky keys could activate if you hit the shift key five times consecutively; another five will turn it off.

pref pane [universal access]

[x] allow universal access shortcuts

activates this feature
