View Full Version : Keep a "local" iTunes library

This one's been driving me nuts for months.

I keep all my music on an external hard disk, which I don't take with me, but I'd like to take my favourite music with me on my Mac's harddisk.

I'm looking for a script that will let me choose my favourites and sync them to the harddisk, I don't care if I have to drag them to a playlist to do this.

I've found heaps of websites talking about syncing from an iTunes server, and importing libraries from one computer to another, but nothing that will just let me simply click "take this track with me" and know that I'll be able to play it later when i'm away from my hard disk which I usually leave at my desk at home.

Does anyone know of a script that can do this?

I would think either this script (http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=syncplaylistfilestofolder) or this script (http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=filestofolder) from the Doug's Scripts site could be used to accomplish what you're trying to do.
