I have an Orinoco AP-200 up and running with a Gold card connecting to it. I just got a Macintosh Cube running OS X with an Airport card. Can the Airport card connect to the AP-200? It seems like it gets a signal but doesn't get an IP address.
Thanks

Thanks. I just had a horrible Enya flashback. ;)
Hope you get your Orinoco flowing...

I believe the Orinoco AP-200 is just a wireless access point, i.e. it doesn't handle any routing functions.
How is your network set up? Do you have a router, or just a DSL modem? It sounds like your router is not giving out IP addresses, or you have to give your cube an address manually.

I have a DSL line, AP-200, a Win 98 computer, and a Mac G4 connected to a Netgear router. Connected to the AP-200 using the Orinoco Gold card I have another Win98 laptop. All of which can access the internet (through DHCP or manual IP addressing) and see one another.
Now that I've got a Mac Cube I was hoping to be able to hookup to the AP-200 through it's Airport Card. Is it possible?
Thanks for your help,

Yes. It is possible. The AP-200 will not hand out an IP address, you will need to configure TCP/IP yourself or put a DHCP server on your network.
I have that same model in my house, it is connected to a Linksys DSL router. I have a Powerbook w/ Airport and three PCs using Linksys wireless USB clients.

Thanks, that helps a lot. It's good to know that I won't be wasting countless hours only to find out it doesn't work. I guess I have a project for myself this weekend.
