The Mail account on my iPod Touch exactly replicates my Yahoo account, all folders and everything. If I send an email from the iPod Touch it shows up in the sent folder of the Yahoo account on the web page (BT Mail)

Is there any way to do this in Mail on my desktop? The Mail app functions perfectly but it does not replicate the folders and settings and mail sent goes straight from the desktop Mail app and does not show up in the Yahoo account.

I've tried creating new accounts but nothing I've done seems to work. It would be great to have Mail on the desktop work exactly like Mail on the iPod Touch.

I am right in thinking you have IMAP setup with Yahoo mail?

In Apple Mail program select the online Sent folder for Yahoo, you may find this in a drop down on the IMAP folder.
then goto Top menu in Mail > Mailbox > Use this Mailbox > Sent

You may also need to make sure in Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Store Sent messages on Server

Basically you are defining what mailboxes to do what in this menu.
You can also define Trash, Drafts, etc here too.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I think the Mail account is a POP account. I can't find any way of setting it up as IMAP. I don't have a 'Store Sent Messages on Server' option.

Grateful for your help.

In order to configure Yahoo! mail in Apple Mail, users must pay US $20 per year for the Yahoo! Mail Plus service. Apple makes note of this in a support document (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3376), and this Yahoo! overview (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/;_ylt=AmQvkuqPx.39X.s.7JA.f5ayKSd4) of the service describes the features of the premium service.

I think this only applies in the US. Here in the UK I have POP access to my Yahoo Mail. The problem is that the Apple Mail app doesn't work the same as the Ipod Touch Mail app.

If you try to add a Yahoo! account in Mail, do you get a message about the Yahoo! Mail Plus service? I tried today in 10.6, and that's what I ran into even though I have Yahoo! Mail on my iPhone.

I just get a message that the Yahoo Plus server is not available. if I continue I can create the account but it doesn't work.
