My dual 2Ghz G5 and 1.5Ghz Powerbook G4 both run the latest version of Leopard (10.5.8) but have a host of startup and shutdown problems:
1. Date/time is not set so defaults to 1Jan70 unless I reboot. (G4 & G5)
2. G4 does not connect to preferred wireless network even though settings are stored. Sometimes the password shows in the box, sometimes not and I have to copy/paste.
3. 'find' and 'locate' take up huge amount CPU unless I kill the root process (G5). Seems to happen only on first boot of a new calendar day.
4. Sometimes can't logout and have to power off (G4).
I've reset the PRAM/PMU and all the usual suspects (repair permissions etc.) but nothing changes.
