I am on the verge of upgrading my PowerBook's hard drive, again.
The first upgrade was from the stock (and very noisy) 8 gig IBM to a very quiet Toshiba 18 gig.
Now I look around and I see IBM makes a 48 and a rather droolworthy 60, while Toshiba would appear to be making nothing bigger than a 30, (and I don't seem to even SEE any vendors hawking 2.5 ATA drives from other manufacturers--??)
That 60 looks nice, but I keep thinking back to that 8 and how it sounded like a 747 on the runway winding up its engines in preparation for takeoff.
Anyone with experience with the later, larger (especially the 48 and the 60) notebook hard drives from IBM, please comment on their noise levels, please.
