Dear All,
I'm new to the Macintosh but I have to do it for my boss.

I have a 3Com Access Point 2000 as an access point.
I setup the Access Point as "no security at all"
I've bought an Orinoco gold card and install it in my boss's PowerBook G3 and G4.
PowerBook G3 = Mac OS X 10.2.1
PowerBook G4 = Mac OS X 10.1.5 (will be upgraded very soon)
I've installed the AeroCard Driver ver 2.0 as an driver for the Orinoco card.
The driver seems to works well as it can detect firmware and Mac address of the Orinoco card.
The PC notebook with 3Com wireless card works ok. (The range is very poor but it works).

My problem is.
It seems like both the Access point and the wireless card are not compatible. It keeps searching never success. The signal strength in the status tab show about 1/5-1/4 and never move up or down.

Does anybody know how to make it work ?
This config is possible or not ?

Please advice.

Thanks
Tony.

PowerBook G4 (Bronze)
Mac OS X 10.2.1
Airport 2.1.1
3Com Access Point 2000
Orinoco Gold card.
(Detected as Lucent Technologies, WaveLAN/IEEE)

Today, I've tested more. With upgraded PowerBook G4. The Airport software seems like it can detected the Access Point but it was unable to join the network.
What should I do ? Anything I've missed ? Please help.

Tony.
