Hi all, I've found a few other posts on this topic but I didn't want to dig up stuff from several years ago.

I'm trying to compile and install SPIM which is a MIPS simulator. I've followed the instructions and have tried many different things but have had zero success with this. Both appear to compile fine with "make" but the next command of "make install" or "sudo make install" gives errors.

Ideally, I'd like to use xspim but I also tried just spim. The instructions say to change the directories to the appropriate locations but it doesn't appear to install it in those locations. Also, spim compiles and seems to install in its directory with the source code but it wants to look for an exception.s file in /usr/lib/spim which doesn't exist. Can anyone help shed some light on this?
