Making Home Page in Safari stick

Like the subject says, how can I make the home page for Safari "stick?" I'm getting awfully tired of seeing the default home page load everytime I open a new window. I've changed it in the preferences, but if I quit the program, it gets reset to that default page.

System Preferences -> Internet -> Web -> Home page

if you set that option it should hold

I've tried that. It sticks until I quit Safari, then the next time I open the program, it's defaulted back to the Apple Netscape page. Which is very annoying.
